Meet the Team
We’re a passionate, dedicated team here at Baystone Bank Farm. We work together to not only make your stay with us as memorable as possible, but to care for our horses, livestock and land.
We all look forward to welcoming you to the farm!
Meet the Boss
Hi there – I’m Annie, and this is Baystone Bank Farm, our little slice of the South Lakes. What began as horseback riding tours on the Isle of Skye has become a family-run campsite and working farm nestled in one of the Lake District’s quietest corners.
We moved here in 2016 and haven’t looked back. My sons Jamie and Jack now help run the campsite and the farm, while I stick to my great loves – our big, beautiful heavy horses.
We hope you enjoy your stay and that this place brings you the same peace, freedom, and joy it brings us every day.

Meet the Wardens

Hi – Danny and Emma here! We joined the Baystone gang in Spring 2025. We both fell for this special place the moment we arrived and love nothing more than welcoming guests to share in its magic.

You’ll find us on site from 8am – 8pm daily (we live in the caravans by the entrance) We’re always on-hand to answer any questions you might have and help make your stay with us a truly memorable one.
Steve the Chef
Steve joined us in 2021 and keeps the café running single-handedly. Originally from New Zealand, he brings chef skills, a sharp sense of humour, and delicious food to make you feel right at home.

Heather the Office Angel
Office Team extraordinaire, Heather joined us eight years ago, she also helps out booking horse riding. Heather makes a mean dauphinoise potatoes and can often be spotted walking the collies.

Meet the Farmers

Jack
Annie’s youngest is most at home on the quad with a dog in tow. He is as friendly and approachable as the rest of our team.

Isaac
Local lad Isaac grew up with Jack. He helps make this a real family business. You’ll often see him taking care of our flock.
Meet the Yard Team
We have a whole parade of passionate people taking care of our horses, many of which you’ll see leading rides or with a wheelbarrow in hand. They all love what they do and take enormous pride in the horses welfare, care and daily work. Here’s just three faces that’ll soon be familiar!

Stalwart gentleman of the yard, Peter has been here for over ten years, he is fabulous at taking out our Riding Experiences, and is equally great at fixing things, he is a kind and gentle man and is a fount of all knowledge in the local area.

Therry has known Annie since before she left the Isle of Skye in 2006 – a very long time! Owner of the beautiful Clydesdale Sparky you will see Therry on rides or out with her dogs Wiggins and Bonnie. A keen Wild Swimmer she also works at Swim the Lakes (whom we recommend!)

Simone has ridden with us as a customer since 2008, she joined us as part of the team in 2020, what a year to start her off, and has been an enthusiastic member of the team ever since, is a superb Ride Leader!.
Friends with Four Legs
We’re lucky enough to share our home with some wonderful dogs and cats. You’ll see them helping out on the farm, or saying wiggly hellos to our visitors. If you hope you enjoy the farm with your dog please take a quick look at our Dog Policy. Please be aware that while visiting dogs are asked to stay on lead our dogs have are proven around horses and livestock, and may be off lead at times.
Our Dogs
We have several dogs living or working on-site. Some live and work with our yard team, others in the farmhouse and we even have a doggy warden on camp! If you hope you enjoy the farm with your dog please take a quick look at our Dog Policy. Please be aware that while visiting dogs are asked to stay on lead our dogs have are proven around horses and livestock, and may be off lead at times.
As with all our animals on-site we ask that you’re considerate of their space and check with us before approaching. This is their home and they will come to you if they want to say hello.

Jazz is our hard-working sheepdog. Often spotted out with the Farm Boys, she’s more focused than friendly—great at BBQs, not so great with crowds. Please give her space, especially around children.

Little Sam (left) is the latest addition to the family. He’s just 10 weeks old and learning the ropes from Mum (Jazz) and Dad (Brutus). Bella (middle) is Jamie’s girl and Brutus (right) is the resident goofball. They all love a chin tickle!

Riga
Riga lives on-site with our warden Emma. She’s a handy part of the team – tracking down moles and tickly campers with her happy face. You’ll catch a look at Riga on her daily campsite patrols checking for new smells.

Baggings
In loving memory…
Baggins was our families beautiful collie dog. Known for his sweet nature, he was Annie’s best friend for 14 years, always great around kids and other animals, he was her “heart dog” and will be dearly missed by everyone here at Baystone. He has a place in all of our hearts, I’m sure some of our guests will remember him too.
The Cats
No farm would be complete without a clowder of cute cats. All of our cats came to us as rescues, and are fabulous at keeping the mouse population down! They are all friendly but unsure of strangers, so although you will see them around, they keep to themselves. As Jazz, please do not let your children chase them to stroke them, or try and pick them up, remember, this is their home.

Our sleek black cat and longest-serving feline, known for his mysterious ways and clever door-opening skills—including the fridge!

A friendly black-and-white chap with a loud purr and a sweet nature. He often pops down to the campsite to say hello

Our small ginger cat with a big heart. Sweet but shy—he loves a head scratch but prefers to keep his distance.

Loki’s brother and the muscle of the group. He’s huge, vocal, and hard to miss—our vet says he’s the biggest cat they’ve ever seen!

Arty’s brother and a bit of a legend. After going missing in 2016, he was found in 2020 miles away in Haverigg. Now happily home, he mostly stays indoors to feel safe.
